SIDE MARKER LIGHTS

Early Broncos came with two styles of side marker lights. The '67 - '69 Broncos came with a trapazoidal shaped side marker reflector. The '70 - '77 Broncos came with a rectangular side marker light. There are also differences between the color of the lens. I offer two different styles of side marker lights based on the '70 - '77 marker light. Both styles will be a replacement for the side marker light. However, they will allow a feed from the turn signals so that your side marker lights will also flash with your turn signals. People have experienced different problems when trying to use LEDs in place of regular light bulbs. The most common problems are 1. they won't work under certain conditions; and 2. the turn signals flash EXTREMELY slow. To combat the second problem, see my Accessories page. The most likely cause of the first problem I listed is that the current flow through the LEDs is not being limited to flow in only one direction. I ran into this problem when I made my first set of LED lights. Each light I will sell has a diode placed in each each light's current path. This will eliminate any current flows in undesirable directions. Also, because these lights are made on fiberglass circuit board material and not sheet metal, each light will have a ground wire that will need to be attached to a good ground. I will supply a ring terminal for the ground wire. The Early Bronco side marker light is a two peice plastic assembly. The plastic light bucket glued to the amber or red lens. This assembly is different than the lens being screwed to the bucket like the rear taillights or front turn signals. Due to the bucket being glued to the lens, I am asking that you send me your side marker lights so I can modify the bucket to accept the LED panel. This can be seen at the bottom of the page. Below is the description of each style I will offer.

STYLE 1 - '70 to '77 - Amber Clearance light w/ turn signal function

This style light has 40 AMBER or RED LED's behind the lens. The LEDs have an 800 or 850 mcd rating respectively. Since the side marker lights are only acting as clearance lights, the LEDs will not be at full intensity.

STYLE 2 - '70 - '77 - Red Clearance light w/ turn signal

This style light has 40 AMBER or RED LED's behind the lens. The LEDs have an 800 or 850 mcd rating respectively. Just like STYLE 1, the side marker lights acting as clearance lights will not be at full intensity. Once the turn signals are activated the LEDs will be lit at full intensity. This should provide a visually pleasing and stunning effect that both you and all motorists around you will definitly enjoy. So be the first in your town to have an Early Bronco with LED side marker lights that also flash with your turn signals.

If you do not have a set of side marker lenses in good condition then I will supply you with a set. Please see my Accessories Page for pricing information.

Please allow 2 weeks turn around time. This is how the side marker lights will be made. The light on top is the stock Bronco side marker light. The light on bottom is my replacement light. These will be epoxy sealed and will mount to the body side as a stock light would. Also, these lights are made similarily to the front turn signals as they are designed with two groups of LED's as seen below.
